Pancake Breakfast

The friendly faces that greeted us!
Eloise and I love an event that involves girl talk and food! We were cordially invited by our intern, Megan, to attend her sorority's Pancake Breakfast. Of course, we couldn't resist breakfast in the afternoon! The breakfast ticket sales are used to help with Alzheimer’s research. The girls who greeted us were so kind and helped us so much! Because the food was downstairs, they had to call the elevator for us because our legs were just a little too stiff to handle the stairs...

Us socializing!

Buying our ticket!

When we first arrived, we got some weird looks from a few parents and sorority sisters. We are thinking it was the fact that we were much more pale than everyone (hey, sun is hard to come by in Michigan these days) and the fact that we have, well, no hair. One sweet grandmother even asked where our wigs were! No worries though, of course our outfits made everyone love us and we started to fit right in! We heard this was a Kentucky Derby themed breakfast and we wanted something new to wear--like always. We ran into Leigh's to find the perfect spring outfit! I wanted to wear something more fun and Eloise did a more understated glam outfit. Even with our different tastes, there was one thing we could agree on and that was that we were not really feeling the whole hat idea.

Us modeling so everyone can adore our outfits!

Once we bought our tickets and rode the elevator we got in line to grab some food. It wasn't long before everyone was asking about our awesome outfits, once again, which were perfect for the theme! I could not keep my eyes off of the food so Eloise told everyone about our ideal outfits from Leigh's! I fell in love with this RED Valentino dress. The floral print was so cute with my Claudia Nichole scarf! Eloise went with a very form flattering, red Milly dress with a black Claudia Nichole scarf. Lately we have been puzzled about why we have been choosing some accessories  from the same designer, but we both knew we needed these scarfs during the winter! They were the perfect touch!

Waiting in line for some great food!

Close-up!

Us talking to some fun girls in line!

After we talked to so many kind and fashion forward guests we finally got our food; two pancakes, sausage, and juice. We were so impressed with how great the food was! What we loved even more than the food was everyone's great outfits! We can't stop thinking about fashion for too long! We had such a great time at this event and felt so good to contribute to such a great cause. It is not often we get to look great AND donate!

The Ice Skating Adventure

Debating whether or not ice skating was a good idea!
Eloise and I had lunch together on Friday and decided to walk over to Rosa Parks Circle and ice skate! We were fortunate and had an awesome day that was full of sun! Because of the nicer weather in the middle of winter, we had some trouble deciding what to wear! Luckily, Leigh's had the perfect outfits! Eloise and I decided to wear our new favorite trend, colored skinnies. Leigh's had so many different brands to choose from...Seven For All Mankind, J Brand, James Jeans, but we finally decided on these great ones from Sold Design Lab which I paired with a Magaschoni cashmere sweater, a scarf from Theodora and Callum and fab boots from Stuart Weitzman! Eloise opted to go with a Michael Stars tee and jacket with her skinnies. Of course, once she saw I was wearing a scarf, she had to copy me (of course) and threw on a cashmere one from Claudia Nichole. If we must say, we were the best dressed there!

Eloise posing with her ice skates!
After much debating, Eloise dared to give skating a try.  She hasn't been skating since she went on vacation in Minnesota when she was 10....good luck Eloise!  We went inside and picked the most fashionable skates to go with her outfit! We thought these skates matched her orange skinnies and black jacket nicely! Eloise took a little while to warm up to skating (she might have been a little rusty or it could have been one too many sips of wine at lunch), but once she got going she was a pro....at falling!

So many kind people were skating and willing to help Eloise back to her feet!
Eloise skating around the rink!
After skating a few times around the rink with a limited number of sprawls on to the ice, no one commented on how bad of an ice skater she was!  Instead, they all wanted to know where she got her outfit! There were so many mothers out with their children and we both couldn't stop talking to them about Leigh's! Eloise even posed for pictures with their children!

Some cute girls posing with Eloise! We loved their hats!

More children having fun and posing with Eloise
Besides mothers, there were also many single gentlemen ice skating. I took this as the perfect opportunity to find a date for a later trip back to Rosa Parks Circle. I found this nice gentlemen and he seemed to really enjoy hugging...kinda cute, huh?  Bye, bye Match.com, hello Rosa Parks Circle!

Me hugging the nice gentlemen
Us posing in front of the GRAM and getting exciting for our visit!
Once Eloise had enough of ice skating, we took one last walk around the area. We walked right past the GRAM where we will be this coming Friday! We will be attending Friday at the GRAM in some very fashionable Leigh's clothing (come see us!). We just love downtown Grand Rapids and there are no better days spent there than those with friends.

"A Day in the Life"

Just arriving at Leigh's!
Who doesn't love a spa day?! Lola and I sure do and there is no better place to come than Leigh's! We were just here this past Monday and fell in love with everything on the sale rack! Select merchandise was 50% to 75% off! We soon realized on our drive over that before I got my facial, we were going to need to shop! Our Monday visit led to the great outfits we are wearing now! I wore my orange Claudia Nichole sweater with RED Valentino jeans. I was just about to check out when I found this awesome Jose and Maria Barrera necklace on sale! I couldn't resist and I just love it with this sweater! Lola opted for her recent purchase as well, which was a blue Claudia Nichole cashmere sweater with Ralph Lauren Black Label leggings! She also found a Jose and Maria Barrera necklace and had to wear it with her sweater! What is even more perfect about these outfits is that they perfectly transition into the springs trends of bright colors for everything!

Us with our good friend, Michelle!

On our way to the sale racks we ran into our model friend, Michelle! She is employed as a full-time model at Leigh's and we could not be any more jealous! She looks awesome in her spring clothing! We almost hate how jealous we are of all our model friends! They are always so thin and pretty like Michelle! Good thing we like her so much!

Giovanna helping me pick out another great outfit!

Loving all the sales!

Lola shopping for outfits she can hopefully use to snag a date!

After much socializing, we finally made it over to the sale rack! We were glad so much great stuff was left since we were here on Monday. My good friend (did we mention we have a lot of friends at Leigh's?) and Leigh's buyer, Giovanna, helped me find some more great outfits that I can wear now and in the spring! While I was busy shopping, Lola was looking at the evening wear in the sale rack in hopes of finding something she could wear on a date!

Enjoying my facial!

Lola loving the amenities at Leigh's!

A facial has never felt so good! The drab winter weather had me feeling down in the dumps, but after a good facial at Leigh's I am feeling awesome with lifted spirits! Lola also enjoyed herself relaxing with some magazines and water offered to her by the friendly associates!

Rachel doing my makeup!

After my facial, I thought I deserved a little more pampering! Rachel, the makeup artist at Leigh's, offered to give me a makeover. Boy, did I need it! She did an awesome job and how fun are those lashes?!

Leaving Leigh's!

After some more socializing with our favorite people, it was time to head back into the winter storm! We are just hoping we don't become frozen stiff or accidently get picked up by the plow becasue we are so pale this time of year!
