To the Peir We Go!

Seeing as fall is right around the corner, Lola and I decided we should get to the Grand Haven beach one more time before the weather gets too chilly. With not a cloud in the sky, it was a beautiful day to take a nice stroll on the pier. Seeing as it was not too cold yet, I decided to break out my light and very comfortable 360 Cashmere cardigan and paired it with my amazing J Brand denim. I kept it quite casual with a Michael Stars top under the cardigan, but of course had to add a Marlyn Schniff necklace as my accessory to give my outfit a little spunk. As usual, Lola looked a little more “blinged” out for the beach but looked fantastic if I do say so myself. She brought out some of the great fall trends with her W118 by Walter Baker top, Trina Turk leather skirt, and Lordane necklace…if that’s not bling I don’t know what is!

We couldn't have asked for a prettier day! Although, thank goodness for
for our new fall sweaters because it got a little windy!

Once we continued our stroll, we started to get a little hungry. I was in the mood for a nice Michigan salad, but Lola convinced me we had to get something a little more Grand Haven original. So, even though I was looking out for my girly figure, Lola persuaded me to go to Pronto Pup corndog stand! I want to say I regret the calories, but I do not! It was a must-have for being at the beach!

To our surprise, we bumped into Leigh’s intern Lauren and her date! We were a little nervous to go up and interrupt her, but she was thrilled to see us and introduced us to PJ (Lola of course couldn't keep her eyes off of PJ and kept whispering to me what a hottie he was....I told her she sounds like a cougar...geez he's 10 years younger Lola...find someone your own age). They just grabbed a pup themselves which was their first ones ever…she is going to be hooked after that one, let me tell you, they can be quite addicting.

It was so fun to be able to sit down and have a nice conversation at the pier with Lauren and get to know her a little better since we will be seeing her at Leigh’s (…often by how much we love to shop there)! Sadly, we had to let her get back to her date and I had to get home to take the kiddies to soccer practice. Overall, I had such a splendid afternoon walking around the Grand Haven pier gossiping and chit chatting about nothing with my best friend Lola! I’m sad to see this nice weather go, but then again I am pretty excited to switch out my sandals for a nice, new pair of Stuart Weitzman boots!

We're back! Sorry about being gone for a week, Eloise caught the flu and I just couldn't go out on the town without my girl by my side! After taking a week off to rest of shopping at Leigh's chasing those gorgeous men of Grand Rapids and of course drinking white wine, Eloise and I just had to head to Leigh's for their amazing Trunk Shows! And this week we got lucky, Leigh's was putting on three different shows at once. What kinda girl doesn't love shopping for jewelry, shoes and clothing all in the same place (and within a 100 foot area) I mean I know these shoes are adorable but a girl just can't walk all over the place in these, they're just to high! So after making our weekly rounds and saying hi to all the wonderful employees at Leigh's we found ourselves talking to the amazing and super cute Summer March from the clothing line Zenobia! After looking through the line of gorgeous clothes Eloise and I found the perfect outfits to start our day!

Isn’t Summer March from Zenobia just amazing, we love her!!

I found this amazing one shoulder cream colored dress, with cut outs on the right sleeve, while on the same side the dress had this really cool gathered texture that added a little fun to the dress. Eloise went with these black lace overlay pants, matched with a simple black tank paired with this jacket that is to die for! We love a good cropped jacket with a fun side zipper, it gives you that really fun edgy look while looking professional!

Just showing some off the amazing patterns and textures from Zenobia’s line. We wanted everything!

After stopping by Zenobia to hangout with our girl Summer we decided we wanted some jewelry, and we were just in luck! The super talented energetic Michelle Morocco was just around the corner with her amazing jewelry line Niyama! Her line was filled with gorgeous stones paired with black and brown leather, and some amazing beading with the most adorable charms with really fun saying that would be perfect for anyone from myself to even one of Eloise's kids! Eloise and I changed just before making our way to Michelle! I put on this adorable Valentino Red black dress with these amazing Maria Sharapova by Cole Haan boots with black tights, while Eloise went with one of Leigh's new Michael Stars sweaters and a really fashionable and comfy pair of denim by J Brand!

Look how amazing this jewelry is! We love her boot charms, just taking the concept of a necklace and wrapping it around your boot gives it a whole new fashionable look!

We loved everything, and Michelle has mastered the layered look that gives you that cool effortless rocker vibe! Thank you so much Michelle, namaste girl!

And our last stop on the Trunk Show train was at Cole Haan! We love our Cole Haan shoes! The spring line was filled with amazing pops of color from the shoe laces to the bottoms or insides of the shoe, Cole Haan has done it once again! He's made me want to buy every shoe he makes!

We loved these wingtip shoes that give you that old school look with a fun pop of color! We love you Cole Haan!!

Special thanks to the amazing Summer March from Zenobia, Michelle Morocco and her line Niyama and of course Cole Haan! We had such an amazing day at Leigh's make sure to check us out again on Sunday and see Eloise's and I adventure downtown at ArtPrize!

Viva Italia!

Ciao Grand Rapids! Sorry it's been awhile since my girl Eloise and I have made an appearance. We were just spending our summer in the French Alps, site seeing, eating delicious food, I was chasing after hot European men, Oh and of course wine tasting! Wait did I mention hot European men? Well any way we thought it would be a great time to come back, because it's obviously one of the best nights of the year, Grand Rapids Fashion Night out! We made our way over to Leigh’s to help set up before the big party.

Why of course, I'd love some Prosecco!

Because its been so hot lately Eloise and I decided to just stick to the basics of fashion while we helped Jacob the new intern and the rest of the Leigh’s team set up! A simple top by Michael Stars matched with a pair of Leigh’s new denim that just came in by J BRAND Oh! and I almost forgot about my amazing scarf by Italian designer Etro and our adorable shoes by Tory Burch.

Doesn’t this food catered by Saburba look delicious?

Ok, enough of this heavy lifting, a girl can’t be all sweaty before a huge party like this, we need to look fabulous

Don’t we look favoloso!

Because the theme tonight is Italian fashion, Eloise and I decided to both  wear one of our favorite Italian designers. Leigh’s just received this amazing shipment of Armani that we just had to try on. I of course picked out this gorgeous sequence jacket, matched with a pair of skinny coated denim by Rich and Skinny (Don't they look just like leather??) and these sexy black heels by my favorite shoe man Stuart Weitzman. Eloise went for this extremely elegant navy dress, also by Armani and these adorable gray heels by Cole Haan, adding a chunky gold bracelet by Karine Sultan only completed her look even more! We were the best dressed girls there (If we do say so ourselves!)!

Where are all the Italian men?

The night was filled with amazing music, food, friends and of course fashions. So many great people stopped by, who would have thought that Brangelina would fly in from LA for Grand Rapids Fashion Night out! And we can't forget about Lady Gaga who, took time off from her world tour to try on some our new Valentino Red we just received earlier this fall!

Watch out Grand Rapids here we come!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out last and made it that much more fabulous. Oh, and a special thanks to Harold Zeigler who brought over the adorable Fiats, the amazing Elieen DeVries for driving over that gorgeous Ferrari and to our amazing DJ Adrian Butler for making us all bust a move!

Leigh's HOT HOT HOT Party!

Today was the day of Leigh's Hot Party! We couldn't wait because we had so much fun last year and Patrick said it was going to be hotter than ever this year! Eloise and I were so excited to wear our new hot summer fashions from Leigh's our designer of choice for today was Michael Stars. I wore a super cute striped Michael Stars tank with bright orange DL 1961 shorts. I paired it with a bright colored Ben-Amun necklace. Eloise wore a striped Michael Stars maxi with an orange Narducci bracelet. There were so many great deals including 20% off your entire purchase and 10% off your cosmetic purchase. You can bet Eloise and I took advantage of those deals - really who can resist! There was also a DJ, lots of food, and my favorite...a bar!

Getting some drinks from the hot bar!
Eloise getting some delicious food.
Hot cookies! ;)
Getting a frozen yummy from Patrick Plank, the devilish bartender!
As we browsed through Leigh', we found so many cute outfits and met some amazing people. The DJ, Adrian Butler, was playing some awesome music and I couldn't help but turn on the charm and flirt a little bit! Unfortunately, Eloise leaned over and shared that Adrian is engaged....figures!
Trying on some hats by the Havaiana display.
I think the DJ could tell I was a little tipsy...he asked about the bump on my head!
Eloise's husband might get a little jealous! Grarrr!
We ran into several of our friends that model for Leigh's. Of course they looked fabulous! We also chatted with some of the awesome sales staff. We even ran into Megan, the previous intern!

Visiting with our friends...we're envious of their job! But, frankly, I think we have what it takes!
Trying on some HOT masks
Pat and Allison wore the same dress...can't blame them, it's super cute!
With Megan!
We found so many great outfits!
We had so much fun at the party! We can't wait until next year's party! Check back Saturday when Eloise and I go to the Art Festival in downtown Grand Rapids!

An Afternoon at Gaslight Village

The weather has been beautiful the past few days so Eloise and I decided to enjoy the great outdoors and visit Gaslight Village in East Grand Rapids. I decided to wear my super cute, a bit sassy and sexy, maxi dress from Leigh's! I chose my black and white Donna Morgan dress with an orange B-Low the Belt and a Ben-Amun orange bracelet. I met up with Eloise and guess what she was wearing?! A maxi dress from Leigh's! We obviously are best friends and in sync with each other's good taste. She was wearing a Michael Stars teal dress with a beautiful Pink House beaded necklace, and a fabulous High Fashion neon yellow clutch.
Don't we look great?

After admiring each others outifts (we couldn't stop staring), we headed over to Gaslight Village for a bite to eat and a relaxing afternoon. We wanted to take our picture overlooking the village, but we had some trouble getting up the stairs - both our legs were a little stiff from our morning run. Luckily, a couple of wonderful ladies offered to give us a hand. Lo and behold, they love Leigh's just like us! We also had help from the newest Leigh's interns, Lindsey and Sarah, fashion merchandising majors from CMU... they're starting to grow on us!  Of course, we know we will end up adoring them - they're fashion girls like us!

Eloise and me with Lindsey

Here we are with Sarah

While walking around and enjoying the sunshine, we couldn't help but notice all of the people staring at our amazing outfits, at least thats what we hope they were staring at and not our pastey pre-summer skin (please note, however, we don't have any wrinkles.  Lack of sun exposure does have its benefits)! One lady commented on how great we were at posing. We responded by saying, "It just comes natural!" We received so many wonderful comments on our outfits. We reminded everyone that maxi dresses are for any age and great for any occasion - they're so versatile! They also loved the bright neon colors of our accessories, esspecially Eloise's clutch. Neon is so in right now and we're determined to get the word out. We love the neon pieces at Leigh's, and we hope to see some of our new friends in there soon!

Striking a pose for all of our admirers.
After walking around and meeting new people, we realized we hadn't eaten lunch yet. What better place then Olga's Kitchen! Eloise and I love going there whenever we visit Gaslight Village.

Yum!

I decided to mix up my order and get a grilled chicken Olga, while Eloise ordered her usual turkey club Olga. We were so hungry we ordered a basket of snackers for an appetizer. They were almost gone by the time we got the rest of our food! Everything was so delicious we could hardly eat it all.

My delicious grilled chicken olga!

Eloise's usual turkey club olga.

Our half eaten basket of snackers.

After spending almost the whole day outside, you'd never be able to tell! We are still looking a little pale. I reminded Eloise that it's still May and we have the whole summer to work on our tans, with the help of our new interns, Lindsey and Sarah. We are super excited for all of the adventures we have planned this summer and of course we will be wearing more fabulous clothing from Leigh's!

One Saturday Afternoon

Lola and I at the park!
What a beautiful Saturday we experienced here in Grand Rapids last weekend! Lola and I had plans to get together and we knew we wanted to enjoy the weather! This time of year, outfits are key. Sometimes it is so sunny outside, but it's still bitter cold (grrr Michigan). Saturday was the perfect mix of sun and warmth! There was sun in the sky and the air was warm. I decided to wear my tobacco colored DL1961 skinny jeans that I picked up from Leigh's last week! With it, I purchased a really cute striped Michael Stars tee. I paired it with the perfect Michael Stars tote to make sure I had room to bring all my goodies (phone, magazines, lip gloss...you know, the essentials). When Lola came by my house to pick me up, she was looking like she just walked out of a spring look book! She had on an adorable hat because you know our pale skin burns easily... With her hat, she wore kelly green Citizens of Humanity denim with a Skinny Tees yellow tank under an Autumn cashmere cardigan---of course her outfit came from Leigh's as well!

Lola brought me out to Wilcox Park in Eastown and told me we were going to be doing some "bird" watching. The park was was so serene with new flowers blooming and people playing Frisbee.

A close-up of our great outfits!

"Man" watching! The birds were pretty too...

I soon realized we were doing something much different than "bird" watching. We were, in fact, MAN watching! Lola brought me out to the park to look for potential men! I will say her outfit was working in her favor. Once she realized I wasn't much help with finding men, we decided to drive around the corner to grab something to eat--we are not really into walking far...
Arriving at Yesterdog!

We are HUGE fans of Yesterdog! Nothing is better than some hot dogs and pop. Lola didn't mind the men working behind the counter either! What is with her lately?!

Outside of our favorite lunch place!

Inside Yesterdog!

Girls making our hot dogs!

How yummy?!

Can you say yum?! I think the weather made these hot dogs ever better! We could even sit outside which made it easier for people to admire our outfits (who doesn't love attention!). So many cute women approached us about our outfits and if we had working ears, they would've talked them right off! We couldn't say enough good things about our favorite store, Leigh's. We made sure to tell them how summer is coming right around the corner and dresses are in...and who has the best dresses?! Leigh's of course!! We hope to see some of these women we became friends with in Leigh's soon!

What a great day in Eastown!

After lunch, we took a little walk around Eastown and enjoyed the sun and people. We really pride ourselves on being social butterflies and love making new friends. Here's to hoping this Saturday is just as great!

Leigh's Pre-Spring Break Party!

The entrance of Leigh's!

Food table! Yummy!

The super cute cookies!
Yesterday was our favorite day of the year! Leigh's Pre-Spring Break Party! This is an annual event that Leigh's hosts to make sure everyone's spring break suitcases are full of great fashion. There is TAX-FREE shopping (yes, you read it correctly!), food from Ninth Bridge Market, music by DJ Adrian Butler, drinks, tons of fun and socializing!
The cute DJ!

Patrick making drinks!
When we first arrived at Leigh's we were in awe! All the bright colors, great clothes, music, and Lola's favorite--drinks! Not to overwhelm ourselves with happiness, we took a walk around to see everything one at a time. We ran into a few of our favorite sales associates who LOVED our new CLASS by Robert Cavalli dresses from Leigh's! We thought the dresses would be perfect to wear to such a fun party. After socializing for a bit, we had tons of energy and were ready to dance! We went and talked to our favorite DJ Adrian Butler (SO cute!) and showed some of our best moves! (We will admit though, we would never win So You Think You Can Dance...people always tell us we're a little stiff).
Us dancing to great music!
Once we were done "busting a move", we knew it was time to start our shopping! I started out by Kevan Hall's dresses and could not find Lola anywhere! I then look up and there she is, at the bar flirting with some shirtless man!
Lola getting a drink!

Us by the bar enjoying the party!

Lola by her new man!
I was proud of Lola for meeting such a perfect man for her at our favorite event...Bob the cabana boy - check out those abs...Lola sure was! What a great combo! While Lola finished her conversation and gawking, I grabbed some great food and scanned the rest of the store!  I noticed the Paperwhite trunk show and knew that had to be our next move! They have the perfect shirts for work or play!
Me enjoying all the food!

Paperwhite had some awesome new pieces that I was so excited about! They even had some casual separates that Lola could purchase for everyday wear! My browsing the racks turned into a mini interview with their rep, Yezenia (love her!), and I will share with you what I found out!

Tell me a little bit about Paperwhite?
Paperwhite was originally a white shirt line and the pieces were typically used  for layering pieces in suits. About a year and a half ago, Paperwhite began designing separates and now have tops, tunics, blazers, skirts, and pants! They of course still have their original wash-and-wear white work tops.

What is a great Paperwhite spring/summer style?
Paperwhite now offers printed tops. All of these tops are engineered printed and were actually created by a Paperwhite graphic designer in the office. Because of this, all of the prints are specific to Paperwhite and are the exact same on every piece. For the spring/summer, any piece that has one of these engineered prints is a must-have and with that, anything that has extra detail, embroidery, and rich color!

What styles of tops does Paperwhite offer?
The styles of tops that Paperwhite offers differ by season. For warmer seasons, you can see tops in short and three-quarter length sleeves. For cooler months, the sleeves are longer. Paperwhite has tunics, true blouses, button downs, and crisp white shirts.

Where is the best place to wear a Paperwhite blouse?
If you are wearing one of Paperwhite's essential blouses, the workplace is the best place to wear them. These blouses are perfect under business suits or paired with a business suit. If you have a Paperwhite garment-dyed/ embellished blouse, then a casual vacation or cruise is the best place! These tops are Paperwhites more casual blouses and are perfect with you are in a casual, fun setting. Most of the separates offered by Paperwhite are business casual and can be transformed from day to evening flawlessly.

What item is your best seller?
Paperwhite tunics are the best seller! They can easily be paired with jeans or leggings and have such fun prints and colors for this season!
Paperwhite tops! Love all the color!

A Paperwhite blouse!

Us with Yezenia! We loved her!

After our great talk with Yezenia, we tackled our shopping! There were some great trunk shows going on - A'nue, Paperwhite, Kevan Hall, Skemo, Michael Stars - we purchased some awesome pieces! Of course, we couldn't go around for long without finding someone we knew and wanted to talk to! We ran into our friend Michelle who was modeling for the party and she looked awesome! What a fun way to run into people! Loved her maxi dress from M Missoni!
Us and Michelle! She's so cute!
As we were purchasing our great finds, we ran into this little pig that was one the register and we loved it so much! It was such a cute little touch to the party!
A cute pig!
All in all, this year the party was awesome! We had so much fun and got some of the best spring pieces to make us the most fashionable girls in town!
