Lola and Eloise... the next Picasso!

Today Eloise and I decided to try something new. We heard about a new venue in Gaslight Village called Brush Studio, so of course we had to check it out! We took a trip to Leigh's to find the perfect outfit. They had just gotten a new shipment of BCBG Max Azria and we were all over it! Eloise picked out a bright orange dress and I just had to have the bold patterned knit dress. We paired it with brand new Simon Sebbag and Marlaina Stone bracelets.

Arriving at Brsuh Studio!
Checking out what Brush Studio has to offer.

Waiting to start painting!
We arrived at Brush Studio and were amazed at how wonderful and inviting everyone was. They even offer food by Ramona's Table and, much to my delight, wine! There were beautiful paintings on the wall and we couldn't wait to try our hand at creating our own masterpiece! It's a good thing no previous experience is required because Eloise and I are beginners!

Getting ready to let our creative juices flow!
Watch out, Picasso!
Gathering inspiration.
It started out a little rough, but after we got the hang of it, we couldn't stop! Eloise painted a picture of some beautiful flowers while I took my inspiration from the Grand Rapids skyline. Next time we go, we will attend one of their classes to learn how to paint like a pro.

Relaxing with a drink.
An example of the amazing artwork you can paint at Brush!

A beautful painting at Brush.
We had a great time learning how to paint at Brush Studio. Although our paintings weren't the most glamorous, we still had a lot of fun with everyone. Eloise can't wait to go back and bring her kids on family day, and I might tag along for the food, wine, and a good time!

The Nutcracker Ballet

Our new holiday dresses!

We love Christmas, and even more we love celebrating it with fun and festivities! It's been quite sad with the lack of snow fall this year in Grand Rapids, but we aren't letting that affect our Christmas cheer. To enlighten our spirits, Lola and I decided to attend the Grand Rapids Ballet Company performance of the Nutcracker, at the Devos Performance Hall. We love watching the ballet dancer's sweep so elegantly across the stage. The other great thing about Christmas events is finding the perfect holiday outfit. Thankfully, Leigh's has such a great selection this year it was hard to leave with just one!

Santa's workshop and fun Christmas ornaments!

I decided to wear my new scarlet colored Tracy Reese dress. Its bow on the shoulder and cutout on the chest is fun and edgy, yet very comfortable! I chose to wear gold strappy heels from Lilly Pulitzer and a few chunky bracelets by Simon Sebbag. Lola looked very chic herself in her new holiday dress by Trina Turk. To add some sparkle she wore a bracelet from Kenneth Jay Lane and cute peep toe suede pumps by Cole Haan. It's always exciting for us to tell everyone we never have to leave Grand Rapids for our shopping. Leigh's has everything to meet our fashion needs!

Christmas carolers

After such a great performance, Lola and I now have cheerful Christmas hearts and spirits. The Devos Performance Hall had amazing Christmas displays, and also had personal carolers singing so merrily. The girls above asked if we were ballet dancers, and wanted to know if we would pose for a picture with them! We figured it was our slender figures and poise that gave them such an assumption, but rest assured, our grace is far from that of a ballet dancer. Of course, one thing we do love is Christmas shopping. If you have a few more things on your Christmas list to cross off, stop into Leigh's and you might just find what you are looking for!

Spa Week at Leigh's

As soon as I received my mailer from Leigh's announcing their Spa Week I set up an appointment for Lola and I.  The timing was perfect- after braving Snowpocalypse 2011 and with v-day right around the corner we could both use some serious pampering!

Lola (Left) and I
Lola showed up to our date in an unusually subdued olive green Elliott Lauren sweat suit and Tribal tee shirt which she accessorized with BCBG Max Azria flats and a Simon Sebbag necklace.  When I asked what was up with the earthy ensemble I learned that Lola had recently taken a holistic approach to fighting the winter blues...by trading cosmos for 8 AM hot yoga classes!?!?  I was a picture of fashion and function in my orange Tribal jacket and tee shirt, black Tribal pants, and a sporty lime green ToyWatch.

Healthful snacks!

Getting everything set up for our paraffin treatment.
Our visit to Leigh's was in keeping with Lola's new focus on self improvement.  We enjoyed rejuvenating paraffin treatments and facials using products from Natura Bisse, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy, and Fresh, as well as tips on how to update makeup for spring using the newest from Yves Saint Laurent and LeClerc.  Leigh's cosmetic team is amazing!

After our facials we decided to do some shopping.  Lola used her lifestyle change as an excuse to purchase yet another set of Elliott Lauren workout clothes and I picked up a flirty Valentino Red top to wear on my Valentine's Day date with my husband.  When the subject of the lovers' holiday day came up I learned that Lola would be going out with a fellow yogi- 8 AM all makes sense now! Facials, shopping, and the latest update on Lola's love life made for a fantastic Gal-entines Day at Leigh's!
