Ho Ho Ho!

Eloise and I are so excited for Decemeber! The snow, hot chocolate, cozy sweaters, curling up with a cute man by the fire (well I guess I'll be doing more of that than Eloise!) and of course Christmas! We thought it would be a fun idea to show you all of the great Christmas treasures in Grand Rapids! And what better way to start off the Christmas festivities with a visit to Santa in Breton Village! But before we could make our way to see that jolly old fella, we of course had to stop by Leigh's to see all of the great new stuff they got in!
Before we even walked inside we saw the gorgeous window displays Patrick did, clearly he used us as his muses, I was the red naught side, and Eloise was the nice white side! We made our way around the store and saw that they were having the Wolford Trunk Show, I started eagerly going through the racks, when I came across the most amazing houndstooth long sleeved, turtle neck dress that was form fitting, I freaked, and had to try it on immediately, and it fit like a glove. It was then Eloise's turn and she found this perfect mermaid black skirt by Wolford, as well as this adorable red Kate Spade sweater, perfect for the holiday season. So after we found our outfits we made our way down to Bag, Bangle & Bling to find some fun colorful holiday accessories.
Because my dress was so graphic I really didn't need much! I found this amazing green emerald ring, as well as this adorable gold watch, that only added the perfect pop of color! Eloise found a great little green snake skin clutch, as well as the fun gold bib necklace!

My great little accessories!

Look at Eloise and her fun pops of color!

A great graphic dress like this is perfect for the holidays!

Doesn’t she look fabulous!?

So after we accessorized our outfits, we decided we had to jump in line and wait to see Santa! We were so excited to tell him everything we wanted! I told him I wanted either Brad Pitt or George Clooney (George could be 10 years younger...he has to much gray hair for me) and I think Eloise wanted a new mini van or something! Just Kidding! she asked for this amazing black Armani dress from Leigh's ( hint hint Mr. Eloise!)

Waiting in line for Santa!

Aren’t we all just so adorable!

Santa head over to Leigh's please!

Santa doing some accessory shopping for Mrs.Claus!

We had a blast talking to Santa, it put us right into the Christmas sprit! Stay tuned for next week and see where Eloise and I go for some more fun Christmas festivities in Grand Rapids! Happy Holidays, and Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bag, Bangle & Bling Grand Opening!

So  it's pretty obvious that Lola and I love our accessories, I mean anyone can tell that, but the other week when Lola and I were making our daily stop at Leigh's (and yes, I said daily, a girl can never have to much fashion in her life!) But like I was saying, we ran into Rebecca and started talking all things fashion and she told us about this great pop up store that Leigh's was doing right here in Breton Village called Bag, Bangle and Bling! It's a chic, hip fashionable store were finding the perfect accessory is just a bangle away! Whether it's a statement necklace or that perfect little clutch for a night on the town they have everything, at a really fun price point for women of all ages! So of course Lola and I had to go to the Grand Opening yesterday! We made our way to Leigh's to pick out an outfit for the event! Lola found this amazing black My Tribe dress with leather detailing, while I found this adorable Kate Spade navy and white stripped dress and this great Kami cardigan to go over it! So after we picked out our looks we made out way over to Bag, Bangle and Bling for some fun accessory shopping!

Having an fashionable day time look is super easy! Adding some gold to a stripped dress gives you that elegant, yet causal look. While this adorable Betsey Johnson hat and scarf are super cozy for the upcoming winter months!

We both decided that we need more day time, as well as night time accessories so we were on a mission to find the perfect little necklace or bracelet that would do the trick! Oh and look who we ran into!

Doesn't Rebecca always look so fabulous!?

So we had found our day time looks, now we were determined to find a couple accessories for a night on the town! We were so excited to see how many options Bag, Bangle & Bling had! It was so hard for us to narrow it down! But in the end we found exactly what we were looking for! Lola found these two long black and silver chains, as well as this adorable silver cuff! For my nighttime look I layered multiple gold necklaces! It's a really fun technique but remember less is more, so don't add to many because it might make your neck look shorter than it actually is!

Nighttime accessories!

I thought we should show you an up close look at all of our new accessories from Bag, Bangle & Bling!

Until next time ladies, I hope you all have a fun, safe and fashionable weekend! And a special shout out to the Leigh's team for doing an amazing job on Bag, Bangle and Bling!

Kevan Hall Trunk Show!

Eloise and I are suckers for a good Trunk Show, so when I heard that Kevan Hall, yes thee Kevan Hall was going to be at Leighs I about died. He was on our favorite show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" We just love watching women that are as fabulous as us make fools of themselves! But I'm always like "Hello Bravo!? Come make a "Real Housewives of Grand Rapids" show. I'm sure Eloise and I could handle being the starts along side of Mrs Van Andel and Mrs. Devos! What do you think ladies?! I've decided that I'm calling Bravo tomorrow, my face was made for tv! But anyway, I went and picked Eloise up and we made our way over to the best store in Grand Rapids! For our first looks Eloise found a gorgeous floor length black gown with amazing side detailing on it that just made her look 10 feet tall! While I found the perfect little party dress, that was this fabulous champagne color coverd in sequins!

I feel like there should be a red carpet underneath us, not hardwood floors!

While Eloise and I were playing dress up, we turned around and Kevan Hall was standing right in front of us! Of course we needed a photo with him! He was extremely nice and so talkative! He has been in the industry for 25 years, working in Beverly Hills, New York City, and London! Which isn't hard to believe because his craftsmenship was so amazing!

I have to say I was a little jealous he was touching Eloise lower back and not mine...Hello! I'm the single one Kevan!

For our second looks, Eloise and I were looking for more of a day time dress, which Kevan does flawlessly! Some people may think that Kevan only does red carpet looks but oh know! He has the most amazing day time dresses that work for any occasion! We found these two dresses that had the same detailing on it, which was this really cool graphic 3D swirling pattern/material that added great texture to the dresses! Eloise for an all black dress with the gorgeous 3D swirling pattern on the top, while I found this adorable black and white dress with a fun skinny belt around the waist!

Don't we just look amazing!?

Thank you so much to Kevan Hall for leaving behind the amazing California weather to come visit us at Leigh's! You are so extremely talented and we cannot wait to see you again soon!

Naked Plate Studios!

Yesterday, I just couldn’t stand how cold it was so I called Lola up and asked her if she wanted to go shopping, and before I could finishing the words “want to go shop...” Lola quickly replied with a yes! So I went and picked her up, and we headed over to Leigh’s for a little cold weather retail therapy, It seemed like a really good excuse to shop! Within the past week, Lola and I were so surprised at how much additional fall and winter merchandise Leigh’s had received.

We went straight for the cozy cashmeres and adorable sweater dresses. Lola found this adorable candy apple red Tory Burch cardigan with brown trim, paired with brown leggings underneath just added to the whole comfy chic look we were both going for. And remember ladies, if you are wearing any brown or gold paired with a color try and wear brown, instead of black tights, it’s a easy yet fashionable way to look stylist for the fall season! And I found this amazing Le Phare black and grey sweater dress, it was just what I was looking for! Both of us finishing our look with a pair of Cole Haan shoes, we were all ready to hit the town.

We were walking over to D&W to pick up a few groceries, Lola of course needed to stock up on her weekly Pinot, and I just need a few things, but on our way over we passed this adorable little place called Naked Plate Studios! Lola was obviously intrigued, which I quickly had to remind her that no, naked does not have anything to do with men, and the plate was not referring to food, two of Lola’s favorite things in this world, next to shopping at Leigh’s and white wine. Naked Plate Studios is this fun store where you get to pick out any type of pottery, plates, coffee mugs, tea cups, bowls and you get to paint and decorate them, then they put them in this huge super hot fire and a few days later you get to come back and pick them up and use your beautiful creations!

It’s so colorful in Naked Plates! We loved it!

I want to touch! It’s all so cute!

Ughh! The paparazzi just has to follow us everywhere!

Once Lola and I walked around a bit to check out the place, we each grabbed a piece of pottery and let our create juices flow! Lola painted this adorable little tea cup, which I’m sure is just another cup to fill with wine! I painted this festive plate, that I thought would be great for serving hors d’oeuvres!

Look how beautiful our pottery is!

Isn’t Lola a modern day Picasso?!

Lola and I had such a fun and creative day! Thank you so much to the team at Naked Plate Studios for being so helpful! If you ever want to escape the cold and are feeling a little creative, head over to Naked Plate Studios and paint a plate or two!

Lacks Cancer Center!

Well ladies it’s that time of the year again! And no Eloise it’s not the Valentino Trunk Show at Leighs...It’s time for us to get our yearly mammogram, and just in time for October, Brest Cancer awareness month! So before my girl Eloise and I could head over to Lacks Cancer Center we just had to stop by Leigh’s and see all of there new fabulous fall fashion that they got it, which of course they never disappoint. I found this amazing blue dress by Tracy Reese, with this dramatic collar and great leather detailing on the side. Eloise snagged up this adorable, yet simple Diane Von Furstenberg dress adding a silver necklace and belt, just made the outfit! So after we made our purchases Eloise and I drove over to the Lacks Cancer Center for our appointments!

isn’t this waiting room just beautiful?!

It makes me want to wait even longer! So before my girl and I slip into our mammogram gowns (which I look fabulous in) we wanted to educated you a little bit on what exactly a mammogram is, just in case you didn’t know! A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast. It is a procedure used to check for breast cancer in woman who have no signs or symptoms of the disease. Usually during the procedure the machine will take two pictures, one of the left breast and one of the right. The x-ray image is used to detect tumors that cannot be felt.

You know how much I love short dresses, but not this short!

Eloise went first, then I followed, the procedure doesn’t take long at all so don’t be nervous!

I don’t really think this is my color...

The staff at Lacks was amazing, Carole Gentry was so helpful along with the entire staff, they make you feel so comfortable and the atmosphere is so “homie” which is so important when undergoing your mammorgram because it can be a scary, nerve-racking thing. Just remember ladies if you’re over 40 years old you need to get checked at least once a year! And go with a friend, it makes it easier...and after go out for lunch or shopping, make a girls day out of it! That’s what we did and it was a great way to start our weekend! Until next time ladies, we’ll see you later!

Lunch and Happy Hour at Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar

Well todays weather was a drag! Because it was so gloomy out today, Lola and I decided we should head over to Houlihan’s for some lunch and of course happy hour! But before I could make my way to lunch, I had to drop the kids off at day care, and when I went to pick Lola up she had already started her happy hour...an hour early! That girl is crazy but I love her! The great thing about Houlihan’s is it was so close to Leigh’s just a quick little walk across the parking lot! Lola and walked into Leigh’s to check out all the new fall fashions they had got in and we couldn’t believe the amazing selection! Lola went for this amazing Rachel Zoe jacket that they had just got in that day, paired with some Rich and Skinny, skinny black jeans, while I wore the most amazing Blue Pea coat, with a great pair of green Vince pants! Because it was so cold out Rebecca showed us the amazing UGG section! Seriously so many UGG’s so little time! But what we are really excited for is the UGG trunk show happing at Leigh’s on Tuesday October 23rd, and Wednesday October 24th! And the great thing is that it’s the only UGG trunk show in West Michigan and Leigh’s gets to host it! Make sure you stop by and check it out! So after we picked out our outfits for lunch Lola and I were off!
oh my gosh look at this weather! Good thing we have on our comfy and cozy UGGS with these amazing new fall jackets! Lola and I were in loveeee with Houlihan’s atmosphere! It was open yet intimate, and the lighting as well as the decor was amazing! Houlihan’s is considered a “Restaurant & Bar” but don’t expect that whole dirty college bar scene (Even thought Lola loves those college boys!) This restaurant was gorgeous! So Lola and I found our way to the Bar..of course and took a seat! The menu was filled with amazing fresh options, even offering vegetarian and vegan options for all you heath nuts! And don’t get Lola started on the happy hour drink specials, needless to say Lola didn’t just fall in love with the bartender...
Lola got more than a glass of white wine! she got the cute bartenders number!
Like I said the atmosphere was amazing! I love how the restaurant was divided into different sections yet it was a really cohesive restaurant, everything went really well together!
And like I said we just loved the bar...and the bartender!

Couture for a Cure!

So last night wasn't the most amazing night or anything, right Eloise? Well in case you missed out my girl and I got all the pre show, and backstage stories and details on everything that happened last night at the 7th annual Couture for a Cure runway show! So once again my personal favorite night of the year rolled around and I couldn't be more excited! Couture for a Cure is more than just a fabulous night of fashion, it is hosted at the Van Andel Institute and helps raise funds for science education and cancer research.

So once again Eloise and I weren't asked to be in the show..I guess it's because we're to stiff or something like that, but whatever, we had our special seats behind the runway! But before I get into too much of the juicy details, let me tell you about what happened before the show! Eloise and I made our way to Leigh's to pick out our outfits for the show, which were already hand selected by Daniel Vosovic, a native West Michigander as well as the featured designer of Couture for a Cure 2012! Eloise wore this adorable forest green button up t-shirt dress and I had the most amazing outfit ever! A floor length shirt with this mosaic detail, matched with a sleeveless top that had the same detailing! Now Eloise and I are all ready for the show!

Let the show begin! Oh hey look, it’s Leighs!

I just had to try the catwalk at least once..It may look like I'm in great shape, but my thighs were on fire after! I don't know how those model did it!

Once I showed everyone my fabulous walk before the real models arrived, Eloise and I made our way backstage to help set up before the show!

Look who we found! Diane Teall, our first intern! We missed her so much!

Quick Eloise! Strike a pose there's photographers everywhere!

There were four different segments for the show put on by Leigh's followed by Daniel Vosovic's Spring 2013 line! Each segment had a different theme, the first was Bond Bombshells, which I hold close to my heart cause I myself was casted as a Bond girl, well...not really, but hey, a girl can dream! The second was Colorful Characters filled with amazing colors for fall, followed by Rock-Her which showed that there's an inner rocker chick in every girl, and finishing with After Hour Diva's which I mean I'm not really an "after hour diva" I'm just a diva all the time! Daniel Vosovic's line finished the show which was filled with amazing separates, dresses and gorgeous prints!

Clearly Daniel wanted to use us in the show but I think I drank a little to much wine before hand! Opps!

There are so many people Eloise and I need to thank! First off, thank you to everyone for coming out and showing your support to Leigh's, Daniel Vosovic and most importantly helping to raise funds for important research and science education at VAI. The Van Andel Institute was as gorgeous as ever and shout out to all the amazing models you looked fabulous (not as fabulous as me!) but still fabulous! We hope everyone has an amazing weekend, and we'll see you next time!

ArtPrize

It's our favorite time of the year again! And no Lola, it's not the half off white wine sale at D&W...It's ArtPrize! This year Grand Rapids was once again filled with creative, innovative and absolutely amazing pieces of art work from artist from all over the world! Lola and I decided we would take Jake the intern on a little adventure around ArtPrize on Sunday! But before we filled our day with art we obviously had to head over to Leigh's to try on some of their new fall fashions. It was a little chilly so Lola and I wanted to be dressed properly. I went for this really fun green plaid jacket that Leigh's just got by LAMB, with a pair of really comfy jeans by James Jean, and because it was so chilly out I just had to have this super warm turtleneck by Autumn Cashmere. Lola found this adorable fur vest by Dolce Cabo that everyone at ArtPrize loved, paired with an amazing sweater and pants from Vince! And we of course both wore shoes by Cole Haan!

Down the elevator we go to check out ArtPrize! I'm so clumsy I tripped while going into the elevator and smacked my head on the wall! Silly me!

Our first stop was to the Gerald Ford bronze statue that was at the heart of ArtPrize! We didn't realize how big it was until we stood right next to it.

Look at Lola trying to whisper something into Gerald's ear, we know you love older men but not that old!

Well after Lola was done flirting with Mr. Ford we made our way to another area of ArtPrize and found the coolest painting ever! It was called "Family Portrait" The meaning behind the piece was to try and unite people, and spread great peace in the world.

We couldn’t get over how big yet detailed the painting was!

While Lola and I were admiring this beautiful art work, we actually ran into one of the main artist himself! Eric Kravako, a Muskegon native was finishing up a tree, and stopped what he was doing to come over and talk to us girls! He was so nice and his message about the art work was so inspiring!

Lola watch those hands! Mr. Ford wouldn’t appreciate you talking to other men!

The purpose of the painting, was like we said earlier to spread peace and unite the people of Michigan, but what I didn't mention was that this entire piece was on the side of this large bus, which was meant for housing art classes to underprivileged children, which me being a mother just melted my heart!

Here’s the school bus that Eric was talking about!

We met some lovely girls that Jake the intern knew from Grand Valley State University! Julie and Abby were so nice!

We had such a fun time taking Jake around Grand Rapids and ArtPrize, thank you so much to all the artist and everyone else who made this years event so memorable and special! See you guys later!

Sunday, October 7, 2012

We're back! Sorry about being gone for a week, Eloise caught the flu and I just couldn't go out on the town without my girl by my side! After taking a week off to rest of shopping at Leigh's chasing those gorgeous men of Grand Rapids and of course drinking white wine, Eloise and I just had to head to Leigh's for their amazing Trunk Shows! And this week we got lucky, Leigh's was putting on three different shows at once. What kinda girl doesn't love shopping for jewelry, shoes and clothing all in the same place (and within a 100 foot area) I mean I know these shoes are adorable but a girl just can't walk all over the place in these, they're just to high! So after making our weekly rounds and saying hi to all the wonderful employees at Leigh's we found ourselves talking to the amazing and super cute Summer March from the clothing line Zenobia! After looking through the line of gorgeous clothes Eloise and I found the perfect outfits to start our day!

Isn’t Summer March from Zenobia just amazing, we love her!!

I found this amazing one shoulder cream colored dress, with cut outs on the right sleeve, while on the same side the dress had this really cool gathered texture that added a little fun to the dress. Eloise went with these black lace overlay pants, matched with a simple black tank paired with this jacket that is to die for! We love a good cropped jacket with a fun side zipper, it gives you that really fun edgy look while looking professional!

Just showing some off the amazing patterns and textures from Zenobia’s line. We wanted everything!

After stopping by Zenobia to hangout with our girl Summer we decided we wanted some jewelry, and we were just in luck! The super talented energetic Michelle Morocco was just around the corner with her amazing jewelry line Niyama! Her line was filled with gorgeous stones paired with black and brown leather, and some amazing beading with the most adorable charms with really fun saying that would be perfect for anyone from myself to even one of Eloise's kids! Eloise and I changed just before making our way to Michelle! I put on this adorable Valentino Red black dress with these amazing Maria Sharapova by Cole Haan boots with black tights, while Eloise went with one of Leigh's new Michael Stars sweaters and a really fashionable and comfy pair of denim by J Brand!

Look how amazing this jewelry is! We love her boot charms, just taking the concept of a necklace and wrapping it around your boot gives it a whole new fashionable look!

We loved everything, and Michelle has mastered the layered look that gives you that cool effortless rocker vibe! Thank you so much Michelle, namaste girl!

And our last stop on the Trunk Show train was at Cole Haan! We love our Cole Haan shoes! The spring line was filled with amazing pops of color from the shoe laces to the bottoms or insides of the shoe, Cole Haan has done it once again! He's made me want to buy every shoe he makes!

We loved these wingtip shoes that give you that old school look with a fun pop of color! We love you Cole Haan!!

Special thanks to the amazing Summer March from Zenobia, Michelle Morocco and her line Niyama and of course Cole Haan! We had such an amazing day at Leigh's make sure to check us out again on Sunday and see Eloise's and I adventure downtown at ArtPrize!

Lets "Makeup" with some Bling!

Lola and I decided it would be a good time to update our makeup for the upcoming fall trends, (Lola was beginning to look a little pasty) So a few weeks ago we RSVP for the Trish McEvoy Skype event! But before Lola and I could make our big appearance in front of one of the best in the makeup industry, we had to head into Leigh’s to pick out an outfit for the event. I went for this amazing black jacket from Diane von Furstenberg, pairing it with these new black scuba 5 pocket pants from J Brand. Adding in a little color with a fun leopard print shoe from Sam Edelman and a statement gold necklace from R J Graziano. Lola went for bold print dress from Clover Canyon, which Leigh’s had just got in that day! Wrapping a thin black leather belt around it from B-Low the Belt to show off her curves was just what she needed! She slipped on a pair of hip black booties with studs from Aquatalia, giving her that cool, yet chic look, and to finish off the outfit she wore a silver bracelet from Escape from Paris.

How amazing is this jacket and dress!

After Lola and I were looking fabulous we walked out onto the sitting area in Leigh’s that had been transformed into a makeup studio! Before the event we were able to meet some of the amazing Trish McEvoy team that would be doing everyones makeup after the live Skype chat with Trish!

Look at those girls trying to out pose us! They do look fabulous standing next to us tho!

During the Skype call Trish pointed out Lola and I commenting on our luminescent skin, calling us right to the front so she could take a closer look at how beautiful we are! After the three of us had a little moment of sharing our tips and tricks of makeup, Lola and I thought we’d walk around the store for a little bit to check out all the new merchandise that had come in. But like always, only after about a second or two of walking around Lola spotted a tall, dark and handsome man, which she of course, just had to meet. After chatting for a bit, we became good friends with Gavin, who was selling absolutely gorgeous Matthew Campbell Laurenza jewelry right behind the Trish McEvoy event. I mean it doesn't get much better than this, having someone else do your makeup and shopping for new bling!

Looks like Lola found a new man!

I found a beautiful sapphire brooch that looks just like a flower! I’ll just have my husband come down and pick this up for me! Lola found an amazing gold pendant, oh and Gavin’s number!

                                                           Isn't Lola's pendant amazing?!?

Thank you so much to all you wonderful ladies that came by for the special Trish McEvoy Skype event! And a special thanks to the extremely talented Trish McEvoy and her team of beautiful makeup artists. As well as to Lola’s new man Gavin from MCL, everything was so gorgeous, my husband is going to have just a hard time just picking out one, or two, or three things for me! Thanks again to everyone who made yesterday such a fun time!

Viva Italia!

Ciao Grand Rapids! Sorry it's been awhile since my girl Eloise and I have made an appearance. We were just spending our summer in the French Alps, site seeing, eating delicious food, I was chasing after hot European men, Oh and of course wine tasting! Wait did I mention hot European men? Well any way we thought it would be a great time to come back, because it's obviously one of the best nights of the year, Grand Rapids Fashion Night out! We made our way over to Leigh’s to help set up before the big party.

Why of course, I'd love some Prosecco!

Because its been so hot lately Eloise and I decided to just stick to the basics of fashion while we helped Jacob the new intern and the rest of the Leigh’s team set up! A simple top by Michael Stars matched with a pair of Leigh’s new denim that just came in by J BRAND Oh! and I almost forgot about my amazing scarf by Italian designer Etro and our adorable shoes by Tory Burch.

Doesn’t this food catered by Saburba look delicious?

Ok, enough of this heavy lifting, a girl can’t be all sweaty before a huge party like this, we need to look fabulous

Don’t we look favoloso!

Because the theme tonight is Italian fashion, Eloise and I decided to both  wear one of our favorite Italian designers. Leigh’s just received this amazing shipment of Armani that we just had to try on. I of course picked out this gorgeous sequence jacket, matched with a pair of skinny coated denim by Rich and Skinny (Don't they look just like leather??) and these sexy black heels by my favorite shoe man Stuart Weitzman. Eloise went for this extremely elegant navy dress, also by Armani and these adorable gray heels by Cole Haan, adding a chunky gold bracelet by Karine Sultan only completed her look even more! We were the best dressed girls there (If we do say so ourselves!)!

Where are all the Italian men?

The night was filled with amazing music, food, friends and of course fashions. So many great people stopped by, who would have thought that Brangelina would fly in from LA for Grand Rapids Fashion Night out! And we can't forget about Lady Gaga who, took time off from her world tour to try on some our new Valentino Red we just received earlier this fall!

Watch out Grand Rapids here we come!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out last and made it that much more fabulous. Oh, and a special thanks to Harold Zeigler who brought over the adorable Fiats, the amazing Elieen DeVries for driving over that gorgeous Ferrari and to our amazing DJ Adrian Butler for making us all bust a move!
